Behind the Scenes - Editing Graveyard of the Great Lakes
A behind the scenes look at my editing of “Graveyard of the Great Lakes”
Countless weeks and months of research, planning, shooting and interviewing all boiled down to this…the long editing process of my documentary, “Graveyard of the Great Lakes: A Shipwreck Hunter’s Quest.”
The 49 minute film is about David Trotter, the best Great Lakes shipwreck hunter in Michigan.
The film follows David & his divers on three ships he discovered, the stories and characters behind each of those ships.
The film premiered at the 2nd annual Freep Film Festival (freepfilmfestival.com) in Detroit at the Fillmore Theater on March 19, 2015.
I’ve been a photo and video journalist at the Detroit Free Press since 1999. This was the first long doc I’ve done since taking up video in 2008 and I’d love to be able to tell more stories and do more films in the future
