With a loss to start the season most fans would say, “Here we go again!” but this loss was not too bad.  The Lions lost to a great team that made it to the Super Bowl and only gave up 9 points, all of them field goals.  Their defense was great but the offense stunk up the place.  Mike Martz is suppose to be this offensive genius but I did not see it on Sunday.  I was waiting and waiting for some good passing so I could get the wide receivers catching some ball and some touchdowns.

Football season is here and my blog returns
Friday, September 1, 2006
It has been awhile since I posted on this blog.
    I’m lazy enough said.
September through December is my favorite time of the year; the fall weather, apple orchards and donut trips with the family, my birthday in October and of course football.  I was hoping I’d be assigned to one team this year, but for some reason I’m doing all the teams at various games, Michigan, Michigan State and the Lions.  I guess I don’t mind the variety.  After all it’s FOOTBALL!!

NBA Playoffs, Round 3, Game 5; Detroit Pistons vs Miami Heat
Wednesday May 31, 2006
Backs against the wall again the Detroit Pistons came through in grand style with a 91-78 game 6 win against the Miami Heat.  They finally started to play the defense Detroit fans are use to and shut down dangerous Dewayne Wade.  Thank God for Tayshaun Prince, scoring 29 points because most of the other guys did not come through.  It was a tough game that had the Palace crowd on their feet yelling and screaming most of the time.
I hope they remember what they did in game 5 to win and

    Pistons come through again!
They win game 2 in 92-88 in a game that was much closer than the score.  Thanks to the refs the game came very close in the end with less than a minute to play.
It’s almost like the NBA wants Miami to win the series the way they are calling the games.  They allow Shaq to practically walk to the basket and he gets a no travel call.  Dewayne Wade gets to push off Detroit defenders and gets away with it.  Any slight touch the Pistons make on Wade or Shaq

    Heat Stroke!!
Haven’t we been here before with this team?
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between Detroit and Miami.  I expected Detroit to win this game seeing how they were still in the groove from playing a 7 game series against Cleveland.
I expected Miami to lose since they had almost a week off and would come in stale from not playing.
I was wrong, Pistons lost 91-86.  The Pistons fans at the Palace were shocked and unusually quiet.  Are these guys sick of

NBA Playoffs, Round 2, Game 7; Detroit Pistons vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Game 7, WON AND DONE.  As bad as the Pistons played in this series against Cleveland I hope they don’t repeat the same type of play facing the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, they’ll only win one or two otherwise.
Let’s hope this series taught them something and that Chauncey Billups will get his Mr. Big Shot back in sync because he has been playing awful!!  Thank God for Tayshaun Prince who with rebounding and scoring kept the Pistons in the game and ahead most of the

Damn us in the media and us Pistons fans for being so cocky about this team.
We all have been humbled over the past three games by LeBron and the Cavs.  I did not go to games 3 and 4 in Cleveland but was expecting to shoot game 5 at the Palace and shooting a win and a move to the Eastern Conference Finals versus Miami.
    WHAT IS GOING ON HERE??
The pesky Cavs have won three in a row??!!  The Pistons can’t hit jumpers, get rebounds it is like they forgot how to play

NBA Playoffs, Round 2, Game 2; Detroit Pistons vs Cleveland Cavaliers

What a yawner of a game.  Sure the Pistons won to take a 2-0 series lead over Cleveland but damn it was boring.  I even think the starting five got bored because they had a 25 point lead and let the Cavs almost catch up in the fourth quarter.
LeBron had 30 points but unlike the Pistons he is the only star on the team and his teammates can’t rise to his level.  The Pistons starting five and the bench are just amazing.   If one person like Rip has an off night others pick it up.  If

    LeBron, LeBron Who?
It’s Deja Vu all over again it seems shooting the Pistons in the playoffs.  This time game 1 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers saw another rout at times the lead was 34 points and with 7 minutes to go in the fourth quarter the Pistons starters were taken out of the game and the bench came in.
They ended up winning 113-86 but you know it could have been much worse.  LeBron was guarded by Tayshaun Prince and held to 22
